Ecuador Moved Closer To The World Cup As It Drew 0-0 Against Brazil
Ecuador continued to earn points on its way to the World Cup with a goalless draw on Thursday with a Brazil team that has struggled in qualifying.

Ecuador remains in second place with 24 points, followed by Paraguay, which has the same number of points but a lesser goal difference. Brazil is fourth with 22 points, too.

Ancelotti, who recently took over as Brazil coach after leaving Real Madrid, has made several changes to the team compared to his predecessor Dorival Junior, who was fired after a 4-0 loss to Argentina.

Ecuador’s next trip will be to Peru in Lima.
The top six teams from the qualifying round advance directly to the World Cup to be held in the United States, Mexico and Canada. The seventh-placed team earns the right to compete in the intercontinental playoff.
